The Faculty of Basic Sciences and General Courses at Kermanshah University of Technology includes the undergraduate program in Engineering Physics and the master’s program in Photonics. This faculty is responsible for offering all basic courses such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, and related laboratory courses. It plays a key role in educating and preparing first-year students during their initial two semesters before they enter their specialized faculties.
One of the faculty’s main goals is the development of basic sciences and the establishment of high-technology programs.
Undergraduate Program
The undergraduate program in Engineering Physics—an interdisciplinary field combining physics and electronics—is offered by this faculty. After completing basic and core courses, students gain specialized knowledge in optics and lasers. Given the country’s increasing need for advanced technology disciplines, this program addresses many scientific and technical demands in the fields of optics and laser technology.
Master’s Program
At the master’s level, students focus on advanced studies in the field of Photonics. Courses in this program cover specialized topics in photonics, optics, and lasers at a higher level of scientific depth. After completing 9 core credits, students, under the supervision of their advisor, select their thesis and take additional specialized courses related to their thesis.
