Electronics
In Electronics, there are several subdisciplines, including Analog Design, Digital Circuits, and Micro- and Nano-electronic Devices. In the field of Analog Design, an electronics engineer specializes in designing analog circuits for use in household appliances, communication systems, and mainly commercial projects. However, with the decline in the importance and application of analog systems, the demand for electronics engineers in analog design has significantly decreased. An electrical engineer specializing in Digital Circuits is fully proficient in designing FPGA boards and control boards using general or specific microcontrollers, and often works alongside telecommunications engineers in many communication-related projects. The field of Micro- and Nano-electronic Devices is a relatively new area in our country, aiming to conduct research and activities in nanotechnology within Electronics. Currently, this field is primarily research-oriented and has not yet been widely applied in practice. Therefore, related job opportunities are limited to a few well-equipped research laboratories.
Telecommunications
The Telecommunications subdiscipline itself includes several subdisciplines. One of these is Systems, in which telecommunications engineers specialize in designing communication systems for information transmission (such as banking networks), radar systems, and electronic warfare systems (particularly in military applications), as well as in the installation and setup of long-distance communication networks (such as mobile systems). In another subdiscipline, Fields, telecommunications engineers gain expertise in designing transmitter–receiver components, including antenna design, waveguide design, and their simulation. The third subdiscipline, Cryptography, focuses on developing secure communication protocols, testing, and evaluating the security of telecommunication networks. Electrical engineers specializing in telecommunications enjoy strong job prospects in various military and civilian telecommunication projects.
