Introduction
The Vice Presidency for Student and Cultural Affairs of Kermanshah University of Technology is honored to contribute to shaping a bright future for the Islamic Republic of Iran by providing an enabling environment for academic growth and talent development. This Vice Presidency initially began its activities under the titles Vice Presidency for Student Affairs and Management of Cultural and Social Affairs, and since September 2018 has continued its work as the Vice Presidency for Student and Cultural Affairs.
In the student affairs domain, this Vice Presidency is responsible for policymaking, supervision, planning, and organizing matters related to student welfare, living conditions, services, well-being, and health. It carries out its mission through its subordinate management units and by overseeing their performance.
In the cultural and social domain, aligned with the cultural objectives of universities, this Vice Presidency seeks to create an appropriate environment to address the cultural, religious, and social needs of esteemed students, respected faculty members, and dedicated staff. It strives to advance academic, cultural, and religious development within the University setting.
Responsibilities and Authorities
Student Affairs
- Administering and supervising the proper implementation of all student-related activities of the University in accordance with relevant resolutions, regulations, and bylaws
- Establishing and managing student counseling processes in academic, welfare, and health-related areas
- Supervising services and benefits provided to students and their welfare programs
- Planning for the management and improvement of student services, welfare, hygiene, and health
- Monitoring and evaluating the University’s welfare, service, hygiene, and health conditions, and reporting to the President of the University
- Facilitating participation, cooperation, and solidarity among students to enhance the University environment
Cultural and Social Affairs
- Guiding and supervising the proper implementation of all cultural activities across faculty, students, and staff, in accordance with relevant resolutions, regulations, and bylaws, and in coordination with other competent bodies
- Adapting and implementing the strategic policies of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution and the committees for deepening and expanding Islamic culture and principles within institutions, in the cultural and social domains
- Monitoring the University’s overall cultural, educational, social, and political environment and conducting necessary studies and research, in collaboration with the Vice Presidency for Research, for cultural planning and policymaking to promote Islamic-Iranian and revolutionary values, and reporting to the University’s Cultural and Social Council
- Establishing and strengthening cooperation with cultural, intellectual, and revolutionary centers, institutions, and organizations
- Planning to expand cultural, political, and ethical training through educational classes, seminars, and academic, cultural, intellectual, and political events, while ensuring effective use of the capacities of Islamic and revolutionary institutions and supervising their performance
- Encouraging the University community to participate in academic, political, and cultural spheres of society
- Promoting a culture of dialogue, methodological criticism, free thinking, and strengthening connections between University members and academic, cultural, and political experts
- Managing content-related activities of the Cultural and Social Council through facilitating the process of approving plans, proposing necessary programs, and following up on assigned tasks
- Following up on the implementation of resolutions, regulations, and bylaws, and communicating them to relevant units within or outside the University, with the aim of ensuring coordination and monitoring their proper execution, and submitting evaluation reports to the University’s Cultural and Social Council
