Undoubtedly, human resources are the most important assets of any organization. Indeed, the personnel of an organization are the key to its success and the main driving force behind achieving the University’s objectives. In pursuit of its organizational goals, the Office of Administrative and Support Affairs Management consistently adheres to managerial functions, including planning, organizing, coordinating, supervising, and controlling, while prioritizing the correct implementation of University regulations and bylaws.
General Responsibilities
- Establishing policies and overseeing the proper execution of administrative activities across the University
- Implementing University policies and directives related to administrative, employment, and support affairs
- Preparing and writing necessary administrative bylaws, directives, and guidelines for submission to relevant authorities, based on University rules and resolutions, and communicating them to all units after official endorsement
- Ensuring enforcement of disciplinary regulations, investigating staff violations, and referring matters to administrative disciplinary committees
- Studying and reviewing job categories within the University and providing recommendations for improvement to the relevant authorities in collaboration with the Planning and Programming Management Office
- Collaborating with relevant units to meet the University’s human resource needs
- Managing administrative and employment affairs for academic and non-academic staff
- Planning annual promotions and reassignments of personnel with assistance from relevant units
- Creating and maintaining a personnel database, including service records and administrative history of all University staff
- Procuring and providing necessary equipment and supplies for University units, coordinating with relevant units and placing orders domestically and internationally
- Supervising all support and service activities provided to different University units
- Carrying out major renovations to restore and maintain existing buildings and facilities
- Supervising the maintenance and repair of University buildings, facilities, and related equipment
- Developing and monitoring employee welfare programs and ensuring their proper implementation
- Planning and supervising optimal methods for managing the University’s employment affairs
- Supervising the correct implementation of employment regulations and providing necessary guidance
- Assisting in preparing, organizing and correcting job descriptions, organizational charts, and positions in coordination with the Planning and Programming Management office
- Overseeing attendance, full-time scheduling, overtime, and personnel appointments (academic and non-academic staff)
- Participating in various meetings and commissions, offering opinions and recommendations as required
- Managing staff welfare and retirement matters, making necessary decisions
- Supervising performance evaluations of subordinate units
- Collaborating with the Security Office to protect University buildings, assets, and facilities
- Participating in meetings for preparing and organizing staff budgets
