History
Since the establishment of the University, the Chemical Engineering Department began its educational activities, as one of the fundamental and main departments, concurrently with the start of the University’s activities in the academic year 2007-2008. At that stage, student admissions were carried out in two fields, Electrical Engineering and Chemical Engineering, admitting a total of 130 students.
Currently, this department accepts students in both undergraduate and graduate levels. With over 120 undergraduate students and more than 50 graduate students in 3 specializations, “Separation Processes,” “Environment,” and “Process Design,” it continues its work with the highest quality standards. Additionally, 9 faculty members of the Chemical Engineering Department, along with 170 enrolled students, are engaged in research and educational activities in 8 well-equipped laboratories.
It is important to note that student admissions in both the aforementioned academic levels are conducted through the national entrance exam. Admitted students in this exam are subject to the free education laws of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Vision and Objectives of the Chemical Engineering Department
Equipped with modern tools and methods, graduates of the Chemical Engineering programs at this University will be capable of analyzing, developing, and improving chemical engineering processes, and can play an effective role in advancing society and enhancing related industries at the national level.
As the driving force of various industries, graduates of this field will have excellent job opportunities in a wide range of sectors, including oil, gas, petrochemical industries, renewable energies, pharmaceuticals, food industries, environmental engineering, and advanced technologies (nanotechnology and biotechnology). Opportunities in research and development (R&D), engineering design, production management, and even the establishment of knowledge‑based companies outline a dynamic future for engineers in this discipline.
The table below illustrates the general framework of available opportunities for Chemical Engineering graduates, organized into two main categories:
