Faculty of Basic Sciences ​​​​​​​

The Faculty of Basic Sciences of Kermanshah University of Technology includes the bachelor’s program of Engineering Physics and the master’s program of Photonics. This Faculty offers all the basic courses including mathematics, physics, chemistry, related laboratories etc. It is responsible for the training of new incoming students every year in the first two semesters and their scientific preparation for entering other faculties of the University.

The development of basic sciences and the creation of fields with a high level of technology are among the main goals of this Faculty.

The Faculty of Basic Sciences currently admits students at both the bachelor’s and the master’s levels:

1. The Bachelor’s Level:

At the bachelor’s level, this Faculty offers Engineering Physics, which is considered an interdisciplinary field (physics and electronics).

After completing the basic and main courses, students will get familiar with specialized topics in the fields of optics and lasers. Considering Iran’s need for high-tech fields, this field can cover many scientific and technical requirements in the fields of optics and lasers.

2. The Master’s Level

At the master’s level, students study specialized sciences in Photonics. At this level, courses related to the fields of photonics, optics and lasers are offered with a higher level of knowledge. After completing 9 units of main courses under the supervision of a supervisor, students choose their thesis and other courses related to their thesis.
