Department of Computer Engineering

Computer Engineering deals with designing and constructing various computer components. The purpose of Computer Engineering is to train experts who are able to work in the domains of analysis, design, constructing and starting new hardware devices and sets, evaluation and recognition of existing hardware and software sets, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, modification and development. Design, simulation, production, processing, measurement, training, editing etc. are all concepts carried out with the highest accuracy and in the shortest possible time in computer software programs. Therefore, the purpose of this field of study is to train experts who can execute the above-mentioned tasks.
A computer has two different components, hardware and software. The physical and tangible parts of a computer, such as circuits and electronic boards, are called hardware. Software is the intangible component of a computer. Software is the programs and data that tell a computer what to do. A software engineer learns how to design and program huge software, test and evaluate it and finally document it. Thus, it is not like that a computer repairman is considered a hardware engineer or a computer operator deemed a software engineer.
Computer Department at Kermanshah University of Technology
Currently, Computer Engineering is active at the undergraduate level at Kermanshah University of Technology. The Computer Department started its activities at Kermanshah University of Technology in 2010 with Information Technology Engineering. In 2011, Computer Engineering – Hardware was added to the University’s fields of study. Until 2016, students entered the University choosing a subdiscipline, but from 2016 to 2018, students did not select a subdiscipline at first and selected their subdiscipline in the third year from among Information Technology and Computer Systems Architecture. Since 2018, students graduate in Computer Engineering without choosing a subdiscipline.
Subdisciplines of Computer Engineering
In the past few years, Computer Engineering has had two subdisciplines, software and hardware, but this field of study has had no subdisciplines since 2018.
Subdisciplines of Computer Engineering at the Master’s Level
Students at the master’s level can continue their studies in the following two sets of fields of study:
