Message of the Director

In an era when cultural changes undergo vicissitudes, the radiant role of university as the most dynamic cultural institution of society in deepening culture, art and noble human values has become even more prominent. On the other hand, the growing needs and desires of young students demand a suitable response in the domain of culture, and the failure to pay attention to these needs and desires can cause irreparable damage to the society. This is where cultural and social management can, with a huge intellectual and cultural upsurge, guide this active group of students to utopia by relying on creativity and innovation.

The Cultural and Social Management of the University is an influential management that is the main center of policy making and support of cultural and social activities at the University through a cultural, ethical and scientific discourse. It attempts to create a faith-based, moral and scientific environment which moves in the path of development and elevation of the University in order to achieve a lofty position as the scientific and cultural center of the Islamic Revolution of Iran in the Islamic world. Therefore, cultural activities in the University should be in such a way that, firstly, the cultural level of a graduate should be higher than his/her cultural level when s/he enters the University for the first time and, secondly, the cultural level of the University should be much higher than the cultural level of the society.

General Responsibilities

- Researching, studying and providing useful suggestions in order to constantly improve structures and executive methods of cultural and social activities of the University

- Studying and preparing suitable plans in order to deepen ethics as well as intellectual and religious principles through literary, artistic and cultural programs among students

- Examining the norms, challenges, threats as well as cultural and social crises facing universities and formulating along with presenting strategic plans to eliminate or reduce common anomalies

- Safeguarding the culture, civilization and authentic Islamic-Iranian identity as well as raising the spirit of self-confidence and responsibility by insisting upon the knowledge of Islamic and Iranian culture, heritage and luminaries

- Developing and implementing scientific projects in order to increase the organized participation of students, staff and faculty in social, political and cultural activities of the University

- Creating a suitable platform for strengthening and developing the cultural and scientific activities of students along with directing and giving a purpose to these activities

- Monitoring and evaluating cultural activities and programs

- Preparing and implementing the cultural, political and social plans of the University

- Regular and constructive communication with Islamic organizations, cultural and social centers and scientific associations of students in order to provide material and spiritual support for their useful and constructive activities

- Establishing communication and cooperation with cultural, artistic and social centers and institutions of the country

- Planning and organizing educational, cultural and artistic field trips as well as pilgrimages for students

- Planning for the optimal use of students’ free time and sanitizing their bodies and souls

- Encouraging and persuading students to participate in artistic activities, field trips and festivals, training workshops etc.

- Carrying out the tasks assigned by the Vice President for Student and Cultural Affairs

- Studying, policy making and planning for the proper organization of graduation ceremonies

- Executive director of the Secretariat of the Cultural Council of the University

Actions Taken

1. Development of centers, associations as well as cultural, scientific and artistic publications and organizations

2. Development and conduct of diverse cultural, religious, epistemic, scientific, artistic, political and educational programs and ceremonies

3. Empowerment of cultural experts through educational and specialized meetings and seminars in order to improve performance as well as encourage correct and timely response to the audience

4. Convening meetings of councils, boards, committees and specialized cultural commissions at the University continuously and regularly

Honors and Achievements

1. Expanding and deepening students’ understanding of the rich Islamic-Iranian culture

2. Expanding and strengthening self-belief, creativity, innovation and management in students

3. Promoting the culture of responsibility and teamwork with the aim of proving the statement, “we can.”

4. Expanding cooperation as well as optimal and voluntary participation of elite, young and energetic faculty members in scientific associations and cultural activities
