Introduction

The office of Vice Presidency for Education and Research Affairs was established as the first vice presidency of the University in 2011. Therefore, following up as well as continuing the valuable academic and research activities conducted since the founding of the University have been under the supervision of this vice presidency. Educating talented and creative students who participate in operational and industrial research along with education, even at the undergraduate level, has been one of the aims of Kermanshah University of Technology which has been fulfilled to a great degree. From the moment students enter the University, industrial visits, conducting academic and research workshops, students’ participation in research projects especially those related to building devices, etc. are among plans taken into consideration for students. The outcome of this policy is the high level of education and the highest ratio of students getting into top universities at the master’s level in comparison with the universities of the region and achieving single digit ranks in university entrance exams as well as top rankings in Olympiads. This occurs while winning research awards and getting top rankings in prestigious national and even international competitions as well as festivals demonstrates the research capabilities of students graduating from Kermanshah University of Technology. Consecutive acquisition of the title of the top higher education institute among state universities of Kermanshah in 2011 and 2012 from the Center for Supervision and Evaluation of Higher Education is another confirmation of the efforts of this University in its totality.
