Faculty of Electrical Engineering
The Faculty of Electrical Engineering includes Electrical Engineering (the oldest discipline at the University), and currently, having about 30% of the total students of the University, it contributes significantly in advancing the objectives of the University. This Faculty has 15 faculty members. Relying on experienced and young faculty members and with the help of the present knowledge and scientific research, this Faculty takes steps in line with the scientific and research objectives of the country as well as the region and the training of expert and efficient workforce. In addition, practical training is provided for students in the equipped laboratories of this Faculty which are 11 laboratories. The high level of laboratory equipment of the Electrical Engineering Department can help students at different levels in terms of quantity and quality so that they can gain sufficient preparation to enter industry with practical and laboratory experience. The Electrical Engineering Department of Kermanshah University of Technology is one of the oldest departments in the University, which accepts students at three levels, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral:
Bachelor’s: At the undergraduate level, subdisciplines of Electrical Engineering include Power Engineering and Electronic Engineering, which were established in 2007. Undergraduate students of Electrical Engineering initially enter university without choosing a subdiscipline, and after completing 70 course units, they select the subdiscipline which interests them the most based on the knowledge they gain from the courses as well as the working and scientific aspects of various subdisciplines of Electrical Engineering. Courses in Electrical Engineering are selected in such a way that they include Control Engineering courses to some extent, and courses in Electronic Engineering overlap with those of Telecommunications Engineering. This will provide students with plenty of employment opportunities.
Master’s: At the master’s level, students of Electrical Engineering can study different subdisciplines according to the table below:

At this level, students can earn a master’s degree by completing 24 theory units, 2 seminar units and 6 thesis units within a maximum of two academic years. Moreover, at this level, learning the practical software of any subdiscipline during the study period can immensely help students, enabling them to present a more comprehensive research.
Doctoral: At this level, students can earn a PhD in Electrical Engineering – Power by completing 15 course units and 21 thesis units within a maximum of 5 academic years. Students can play an important role in solving consequential problems and take fundamental steps in this domain by studying at this level and benefiting from the presence of the experienced teaching staff of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering as well as utilizing the available laboratory facilities.
